Japanese coins

The thing about Japanese coins is the relative value. As far as i can tell,  1000 yen is the smallest bill, which is about $7.50 USD.

So basically,  imagine coins in place of $1 and $5 bills. Most vending machines are accessible with a card you can add money too,  but no way of getting around carrying some coinage...

From the top:
500 yen ($4 ish)
100 yen (easiest to just think of this as $1)
50 yen
10 yen
5 yen
1 yen
